Archery Minimize
The Vikings used bows and arrows both in battle and for hunting. They even staged multiathlon events in which archery was one of the disciplines. Winning a contest was a great honour. At Vikingland you can try your hand at this age-old sport, using bows modelled on those of the Vikings.

The axe was an important tool in the Viking age. Vikingland runs daily axe-throwing sessions under the guidance of expert instructors, where you can try throwing an axe at a target. If it sticks, well done!

Vikingland has two magnificent motorized replica Viking ships. For an additional fee, you can enjoy a Viking voyage along the coast or a trip on the Viking Canal, opening summer 2007.
Advance booking required.

Small animals Minimize
Farm animals were very important in Viking times and most of the animals served some purpose or another. The animals were used, among other things, for food, clothing and as a sacrificial offering. Today, the animals are mainly kept as pets and in Vikingland you will find a number of small animals that you and the children can enjoy and get to know.

Did you know... Minimize
Horses played an important role in Viking life, both as a means of transport and as extra labour. They were also used in battle. Horses and their owners were often very close, and it was common practice for a horse to be buried alongside its owner. Horse meat was a staple of the Viking diet and was also used as a sacrificial offering.
